Planning, measurement and control have always been the basic tenets of successful project management. Unfortunately, for many organizations, these principles can be difficult to put into action. In the U.S. Federal Government, the Office of Management and Budget has mandated the use of earned value management (EVM)—a highly collaborative approach to progress measurement—as a method of tracking project performance to help agencies meet their project goals. Because successful EVM requires action and cooperation from virtually every person who touches the project, the use of an Integrated Project Team (IPT) can increase the chances of delivering projects on time and on budget. In our presentation we’ll cover the benefits of utilizing an IPT to address the key areas of responsibility, and discuss our courses and tools that can help uncover problem areas before they affect the whole of the project.
